This demo was created using SAS/Graph software.
A custom sas/graph map was created, showing the
room layout of each of the 3 floors, and then 
the resident data was added for each year.  
(Special thanks to Terry Holdsclaw for typing in
all the data for 1980-1985, from the paper-copies
of the Alexander directory he and his older brother
had saved!)

Mouse over the rooms to see the resident names.

Clicking on the red rooms will take you directly to 
that room in the table (via html 'anchors').

Clicking on the names in the table will launch
a google search for that name (perhaps some of
the alexander alumni names are 'unique' enough
that such a search will be useful - add some 
more keywords to the google search to help 
further refine the search!)

This is a proof-of-concept:
Such maps could be a very useful tool for keeping
track of people in dorms, hospitals, office buildings,
jails (ironically similar to dorms ;), campgrounds, 
and any other situation where you want to keep track
of things (people, computers, inventory, etc) are in
what room.
