I have heard that this area is only open if you pay & reserve it. (Probably only practical for a company/wedding/etc to rent.)
This location has a fairly large picnic & swimming area, in addition to the boat ramps. Riding by in my boat, I never saw any cars there in the winter off-season, so I'm not sure if it's open then(?) The entrance is off of Hwy 64, on the right, just before you cross the lake (approaching from the Raleigh side).
Restrooms are available :)
