To do this kind of plot...

You have to create an extra variable, with the values "capped" 
at the blue/pink dividing color.

Then you plot both the original y-variable, and the "capped" y-variable, 
and use the "overlay" option.

And then you use the "areas=2" option to color the areas under the lines 
(and the order you plot the lines is important, so the blue area will be 
"on top of" the pink area (ie, so it will be visible).
