In my SAS/Graph version, I like the placement of Alaska & Hawaii better,
as well as the size of the title & text.  I include the word 'weekly' 
in the title, so there is no question whether this is weekly or monthly
hours.  And for the small states where the labels won't fit, I draw a 
line from the label to the state (the original map did not have such
lines).  And my states & labels have html mouse-over text, so you can 
easily see the state name, etc (for example, in case you don't know what 
state name goes with the abbreviation 'MI' and 'MN' and 'MS' and 'ME' :)
I also put some extra info in the footnote - for example, the numbers 
assume you're spending 30% of your income on rent (not the entire income),
and also added what was the minimum wage at the time of publication ($7.25).
